Algirdas "Al" Joseph Ruksys

Al graduated from Riverside High School in NJ. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1972 and served in the Supply Depot at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in NY until 1976. He attended Quaker City Institute of Aviation and worked as an Avionics Technician. Al later attended Philadelphia Wireless Technical Institute; he was employed by Tactical Public Safety of West Berlin, NJ as a Communications Technician at the time of his death.

Al was an enthusiastic supporter of all Philadelphia sports teams and a longtime season ticketholder for the Philadelphia Flyers. He also participated in several fantasy sports leagues. Because of his professional skills, Al was always willing to help family and friends who were having problems with electronic devices. He also helped as a general handyman when needed.

Al is survived by his wife, the former Karla Reichert, his brother and sister-in-law, Vidmantas and Raimonda Ruksys, their daughters Marija Ruksys and Monika Ruksys, his sister Danute Ruksys, and an extended family by marriage.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3700 Rutherford Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
