Barbara Zorger Orstein

Barbara was the daughter of the late George and Marjorie Zorger. She is survived by her brother, Keith (Connie) Zorger; her four daughters, Jen (Jeff) Reisinger, Alison (Greg) Sakimura, Andrea (Chase) Dillard, and Jessica (Alex) Audette; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Valerie (Jeff) Winterborne; and a nephew, Michael Zorger. She deeply valued her friendships with her Best Bud, Carol; traveling companion, Sandi; life-long friend, Linda; and very dear friend, Belinda.

Barbara was a 1967 graduate of Camp Hill High School. She earned her Bachelor’s in Education from Penn State University in 1971 and her Master’s in Education from Shippensburg University in 1981. She enjoyed a 23-year career in the disability services field, retiring from the Pennsylvania Council on Independent Living.

Although her lung disease was debilitating at times, it did not stop her from living a full life. She overcame many obstacles to live life on her terms. Barbara enjoyed traveling worldwide, quilting, and helping others. Her deepest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, Jillian, Madison, Dylan, Tyler, Preston, Ava, Zoey, Evelyn, Ellowyn, and Roselle.

Per Barbara’s wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
