Born on October 16, 1935, in Slabtown, Pennsylvania, Casey was raised in Centralia and graduated from Conyngham Township High School in 1954. Her life was marked by a strong work ethic and a vibrant spirit that carried her through a diverse and fulfilling career. She began as a telephone operator before becoming an inspector at SKF ball bearings. Later, she took to the roads as a SEPTA bus driver, embracing each role with dedication and resilience.
Casey retired in 2016 after decades of hard work and moved the following year to Zerbe Retirement Community. There, she found great joy in her well-earned rest and cherished the friendships she formed during this chapter of her life.
She was known for her fun-loving nature and zest for life. Casey enjoyed playing cards, sightseeing, reading novels, golfing, cooking hearty meals, dining out with friends and family, watching Westerns and Sylvester Stallone movies, and feeding horses—activities that brought her happiness and reflected her lively personality.
Casey is lovingly remembered by her daughters Michele Maahs and Charlene (Scott) Lehmer; granddaughters Emily Maahs and Elaina Maahs; and all those who were fortunate to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents Stephen Kisela and Vera Slanina Kisela Stutzcavage; brothers Thomas Kisela, Steven Kisela, Joseph Kisela, and John Kisela; and sister Mary Bolger.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 12, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM at her home in Zerbe Sisters Community, 2526 Schoolhouse Lane.
