

Constance Kay Shupe Zebley, age 81, of Airville, PA, peacefully completed her journey on this earth Wednesday, February 5, 2025 with her loving daughters by her side. Born April 3, 1943 in West Chester, PA, she was the third of six children to the late Raymond Samuel and Zeola May (Webb) Shupe.
Connie graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, DE, class of 1961. That same year, she married Edgar York Zebley. They later purchased the Zebley family farm in Appleton, MD, raising beef cattle and crops. In 1977, they moved to Airville, PA and expanded their farm operation. While raising three daughters on the farm, Connie also worked at various local factories, making cigars, boxes, cabinets, and plastic parts. She retired in 1994.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, and was a voracious reader. She was a member of the Delta Senior Center where she made many new friends, loved to play bingo, and enjoyed fun bus trips.
Connie was a thoughtful, kind and generous human being. She was also feisty, sharp-witted and outgoing. She was a woman of faith and especially loved singing Baptist hymns. As a lifelong music lover, she was a huge Elvis fan. She loved spending time with her family and friends, sharing jokes, laughter, and good food. A great cook, she was known for her signature dishes like baked beans, potato salad, and strawberry pretzel salad, to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar York Zebley (2005), brothers, Raymond D. Shupe, Sr. (2003), John R. Shupe, Sr. (2014), sister, Linda S. Walden (2016) and her beloved Chihuahuas, ChiChi, PeeWee and Chia.
Her memory will be forever cherished by daughters, Melissa Anne Jones (Michael), of Joppatowne, MD, Charlotte May Severcool (Brian), of Springville, PA, Rebecca Kay Zebley of Airville, PA; ten grandchildren, Kasey Haggerty (Lauren), Kara Ranazzo (Tommy), Kyle Haggerty (Tiffany), Kole Haggerty, Neal Jones, Sarah Jones, Kelly Severcool, Tracy Severcool (Colin McLean), Rebecca Luzi (Frank), Matthew Severcool, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Gloria J. Poe of Bear, DE, sister-in-law Karen S. Shupe of Middletown, DE, brother Mark S. Shupe of Milford, DE, many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Casper.
Interment will be at 10 AM on April 12, 2025 at Gracelawn Memorial Park 2220 N. Dupont Pkwy, New Castle, DE 19720.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 12, 2025 at 12 PM, with visitation preceding at 11 AM, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. Dupont Pkwy New Castle, DE 19720.
