It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Lewis of Camp Hill, on November 18, 2024. Harry was a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who left us all too soon at the age of 74. Born on July 17, 1950, in Harrisburg Pa, Harry lived a life grounded in love, devotion, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
An exemplary family man, Harry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Peg, with whom he shared a fulfilling and enduring marriage. Their partnership was built on mutual respect, care, and unwavering affection. Together, they raised two children, Dana Lewis (companion to Dana Avaritt) of Harrisburg, and Jeffrey Lewis (Michelle) of Mechanicsburg, whom he deeply loved and supported throughout their lives. He was also the proud grandfather to Avery, Isabella and Brooklyn. As a father and grandfather, he took great pride in watching his family grow and thrive, leaving behind a legacy of love and guidance that will be felt for generations.
Harry is also survived by his brother, Paul J. Lewis of Lewisberry, PA (Dona) and multiple nieces and nephews, including Jessie, Bill (Allison), Joe and Connor, with whom he shared many fond memories and a close bond throughout his life. As a big brother, uncle and friend, Harry was always there for his family and especially loved when everyone was together. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of his family, Harry had a passion for life that extended to his love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and boating. Many weekends were spent on the river, where he found both peace and excitement in the rhythm of the water and the thrill of the catch. His time on the boat was not just about the sport, but about the joy of being in nature, often accompanied by friends and family, where he could create lasting memories.
A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, with visitation held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
