John W. Marks

John W. Marks, Jr. 76, of Mt. Joy, passed away on Wednesday, August 25 at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center. He was preceded in death by parents, John Marks and Johanna (Busser) Marks. He is survived by his wife, Kim (Holtzinger) Marks; sister, Pat, wife of Richard Hertzler, Leola; daughter, Robin, wife of Mike Amig, Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Laura and Peyton Archer; stepdaughter, Amber, wife of James Hoke and granddaughter Bailey Hoke, Marietta, PA.

John was a life member of the VFW #5752 of Mt. Joy and Walter S. Ebersole American Legion #185 of Mt. Joy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1971 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. John also retired from Herr and Sacco, Landisville. He is the former owner of Port Deposit, MD Boat Marina.

John's hobbies include traveling, reading, gambling and doing puzzles with his granddaughter, Bailey, whom he affectionately called "The Beetle".

He will be lovingly missed by his family and friends and his cat "Boo Boo".

Burial will be at sea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County.
