She was preceded in death by her husband, London, her son Freddy Kennedy and her daughter, Elizabeth Schmidt.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Kennedy and his wife Barbara, John Kennedy and his wife Elaine, and James Kennedy; her daughters Barbara Thompson and her husband James, and Christina Nace and her husband James; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Mary Gilmore and MinniBell Kennedy, and brothers Thomas and William Cogsdell.
Josie was formerly employed at Leister's Furniture, Rest Haven Nursing Home, as well as York Hospital where she retired. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and crocheting, as well as art and writing poetry. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of the Pigeon Hills congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
