

Keith E. Abbott, 67, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA, after moving to Harrisburg in January 2017, living most of his life in Los Angeles, California. Born on November 10, 1950 in Culver City, CA, he was the son of the late Doris E. (Wunderlich) & Thomas M. Christopher and the late Harry F. Abbott, Sr.
Keith was a proud Paratrooper Veteran. He was a Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC, having served and been deployed during the Vietnam War and awarded Honorable Discharge. He also retired after working for over 30 years as a Repair Technician with Pacific Bell. His greatest love, aside from his beloved children, was his music. He was an accomplished musician. Learning to play and compose music by ear, he was a member of the bands “Midnight Sun”, “Smokey White” and most successfully, the band “4 ½”, playing keyboards, bass and guitars. The bands played at various locations around Los Angeles, CA including the “Whisky A Go Go”, “Troubadour”, “Starwood”, “Gazzarri’s”, “Roxy’s”, “Rainbow Bar & Grille”, “Pasadena Ice Box”, “Pier 52”, “Fleetwood”, “FM Station”, “Madam Wong’s”, “Bla Bla Café” and “Roxanne’s”.
He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Sobers (Michael) of Harrisburg; and sons, Justin (Abby) of Las Vegas, NV and Erik of Lancaster, CA.; Brother, Harry, Jr. of Newbury Park, CA; Grandchildren, Brianna Abbott (David) of York; Madeline, Claudia and Ava Peck all of Harrisburg, Madison Abbott and Penelope Abbott both of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Luke, Mia, Olivia and Athena of York; nieces and nephews.
A Committal with Full Military Honors will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA on Friday, January 26th at 9:00 am with Pastor Richard Geib officiating. Arrangements were made by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Inc.
