Linda Ehle Wheeler

Linda Ehle Wheeler, 56, passed away peacefully the evening of August 30th at home in West Hanover Township. Originally from Emmaus, PA she spent happy summers playing with who would be lifelong friends in the ocean on Long Beach Island. She graduated from Moravian Academy in Bethlehem and went on to graduate with a degree in elementary education from Lebanon Valley College in 1982. While residing in Harrisburg, PA, Linda taught at Lower Dauphin Elementary School, East Hanover Elementary School, and was a remedial reading and math teacher through the Capital Area Intermediate Unit at Milton Hershey Middle School. Her influence has been felt and broadly appreciated by colleagues, friends, and family. An avid reader and quilter, she spent much of her time at her sewing machine making handmade gifts deeply treasured by those dear to her.

When suddenly faced with a diagnosis of glioblastoma brain cancer, she responded with bravery and determination, an example which instilled those qualities in the loved ones around her. Throughout the illness, her consistent radiant smile brought light and reassurance to those who cared about her.

Linda is survived by her kindhearted and loving husband of 33 years, Ronald Wheeler; children Abigail and Jacob Wheeler; her mother Adrienne Dickerson Ehle of Lancaster, PA; two brothers, Robert Ehle and his wife Nancy Ehle of Orefield, PA and David Ehle of Bend, OR; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and a multitude of friends, all of whom are incredibly thankful and honored to have known her and shared time together. She was predeceased by her father Bob Ehle in 2010.

A celebration to honor Linda’s life will be held on September 11, 2016 from11am-3pm at Shank Park in Hershey, PA.
