
On November 17, 2019, heaven gained one feisty woman when Margaret S. (Peggi) Yost passed away at age 96. Peggi was born on June 14, 1923, in Newark, NJ. She grew up in Doylestown where she lived in the Tabor Children’s Home from age 3 until she graduated from Doylestown High School at the age of 18. On October 20, 1945, she arrived in Yocumtown, PA, as the bride of Kenneth Yost and remained there until her death. Peggi was a homemaker until 1963 when she began working at the Thomas Lipton Company. She retired in 1985. She taught Sunday School at Yocumtown Church of God and most recently attended Newberrytown Church of God. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Yost, her brother, James Schmalz, and her son, Michael E. Yost. She is survived by her half sister, Barbara Young, her daughter Joan Malick (Bob), son David Yost (Lee), daughter-in-law Ana Yost, daughter Kathleen Furniss (Paul), and son James Yost (Lynn). Peggi leaves 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 2 step great great grandchildren. Over the years, Peggi welcomed into her heart and home family members from all around the globe, and she leaves a legacy of love and faith for them to follow. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Newberrytown Church of God, 2825 Old Trail Road, York Haven, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Life for Girls (5925 Lewisberry Rd, Dover, PA 17315) or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania (1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110).
