Nancy Louise Dodge (Betzko), 73, joined her loving husband James (Bud) Dodge in Heaven on January 27th, 2025, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She wanted to make sure she could let him know his beloved Eagles had made the Super Bowl even if her Steelers didn’t.
Nancy was born to the late Helen and John Betzko of Trevorton, PA on February 10, 1951, in Shamokin, PA. She was a graduate of Our Lady Lourdes High School in Shamokin, Class of 1969. She married Bud Dodge on September 11, 1976, and they owned VanKirk’s Flowers until 2000 when she then went into accounting work, first at Indian Hills Golf Course and later at Rotech focusing on medical billing. She enjoyed hanging out on the patio, reading in her free time and always loved an opportunity to soak up the sun. In 2018 she retired to start enjoying her grandchildren full time. She loved spending time at all her children’s homes and had a close bond with all her grandkids. She loved taking them to Great Wolf Lodge and Knoebels and spending time in Myrtle Beach.
She is survived by her four children, Stephanie Dodge and Seth Delaney of Harrisburg, JC and Tonja Dodge of Bloomsburg, Michael Dodge and Kisha Bonnell of Sunbury, and Steven and Whitney Dodge of Ranshaw, all of Pennsylvania. By all her beloved grandchildren, Jayna Delaney, Christopher, Benjamin and Jaxson Dodge, Rowyn and Lyndon Bonnell, and Wyatt and Westley Dodge. Her beloved sisters, Jeanne and Lynn Felton, Barbie and Ben Becker, and brother Jim and Deb Betzko, along with in-laws Soot and Diane Dodge, Ed Dodge (preceded in death) and Terri Dodge, along with many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by friends that were family, you know who you are (Cindy Purdy) and brought great joy to her journey of life. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Aunt to her family, and a beloved friend to all who knew her. She fought cancer courageously for a year, with a smile always on her face. She left this world on her terms, sleeping peacefully at home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 21st at the Sunbury Social Club starting at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
