
Born August 20, 1925, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Julius and Hettie (Hatfield) Scott and was one of 13 children.
Scotty was retired from Harry Welch Autoparts. In his younger years he played baseball with the Old Shade Athletic Club of Harrisburg. He attended John Harris High School and was actively involved in his church.
Mr. Scott was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII with the 802nd Tank Destroyer Battalion.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Miriam L. (Dutery) Scott; sons, Greg (Roberta) of Moorestown, NJ and Brian (Jennifer) of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Cheryl of Harrisburg; 3 sisters, Rebecca, Anita, and Phyllis and 5 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, June 22, 2012, 1:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A memorial service will be held the following day, Saturday, June 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Penbrook Trinity United Methodist Church, 5 North 25th Street, Penbrook, Harrisburg, PA, 17103 (corner of 25th and Canby Streets, Penbrook).
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 5 North 25th Street, Penbrook, Harrisburg, PA 17103.
