

YORK - Theo (Tottie) F. Evans, 95, died on July 7, 2025, surrounded by family and while being cared for by the loving, caring staff at Autumn House East in York, PA. and the angels from Ascend Hospice.
She, is survived by and, married Georg H. Evans, the love of her life, on November 16, 1953. The two of them celebrated 71 years of marriage together.
Theo(Tottie) Evans was born on a farm in Adams County, PA on April 6, 1930. She was the 4th child born to George E. and Orpha(Orndorff) Kemper.
She attended Heistand Elementary School in East York, PA, Phineas Davis Jr. High and graduated from William Penn Sr. High in York, PA in 1948. She attended Columbia Bible College in Columbia, SC, York Jr. College and graduated from York Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She also graduated from Millersville University with a BS in school nursing and elementary education. She worked at York Hospital, the VA Hospital in Towson, MD, The West Side Hospital in York, PA and the Columbia Hospital in Columbia, PA. She taught first and fourth grade at Canadochly Elementary School in East Prospect, PA. Tottie enjoyed traveling. She traveled with her family twice in a motorhome across the USA and back. She also traveled many times to Florida, Maine, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and England. She cruised the Caribbean visiting South America and many islands. She visited her niece who was a missionary in Nigeria, Africa and had the privilege of teaching in a government school there.
She was the mother of 4 daughters, Sheila Winter and husband Jeffrey Winter, Brenda Smith, Linda Dugan and husband Tom Dugan, Deanna DeJenzano and husband Paul DeJenzano, grandmother of 2 grandsons, Derek Lapan and wife Jen Lapan, Alec Wetcher and wife Maddie Wetcher, 1 granddaughter, Bonnie Tracey, and great grandmother of 1 great grandson, Austin Tracey and 2 great granddaughters, Piper and Harlow Lapan.
Tottie’s love and kindness were generous and she will be remembered by everyone that knew her. She had a life well lived and is continuing her beautiful life with God in heaven along with her sisters and brothers that she missed very much.
Her remains will be cremated and there is no service by request. Her ashes will be interred at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, PA 17003 and A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
