Albert Augustus DePlancke, age 83, of Davisburg, died Friday, August 13, 2021, at his home, surrounded by family. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Hazel; his three children: Ronald (Suzie) DePlancke, Kathryn (Timothy Trombley) DePlancke, and John (Ann Mankowski) DePlancke; his five grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren.
Albert was born October 17, 1937, in East Tilsbury, Ontario, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfons and Madelene (Neyts) DePlancke. He met the love of his life, Hazel Hartley, while they worked together at Burton’s, and it was love at first sight! They started dating, fell in love, and were married on March 31, 1956, sharing sixty-five wonderful years together. Albert worked as a computer programmer at Chrysler for many years until his retirement. In his free time, Albert loved to play golf, watch sports, and go fishing. He also held fond memories of his family trips to Ontario to visit relatives, and spending his winters in Melbourne Beach, Florida with his wife, Hazel. Albert was a wonderful man who made friends anywhere he went. He will be greatly missed.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Alfons and Madelene; and his three older brothers: Raymond, Roger, and Victor DePlancke.
In accordance with Albert’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, 48356.
