In her childhood years, as a daughter of an Air Force family, Chandra called Michigan, California, New Mexico, Ohio, and North Dakota home before moving to Texas 51 years ago. She attended Spring Woods High School and Texas A&M University where she was a President’s Scholar and received a degree in Chemical Engineering. Over the course of her career, she worked for Shell Oil, Tenneco, Arthur Andersen, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers as an engineer and consultant. During her battle with cancer, she earned a certificate in accountancy never giving up on her quest for knowledge.
A 50-year member of Chapelwood UMC, Chandra sang in various church choirs, performed in the bell choir, and played flute both as a soloist and with the church orchestra. She also performed in Europe on several church choir tours over the years.
