Kenneth Wayne Cashiola was called home to the lord on Sunday, September 25th after a long battle with diabetes and vascular disease. Kenneth (or “Ken” as most called him) was born on October 25, 1949 in Houston Texas, where he resided most of his life.
He grew up in Northside Village and attended Jeff Davis High School where he played football and found his love for music. As a child he had very found memories of the boys and girls club, where he spent many summers. Ken went to Sam Houston State University where he played clarinet in the marching band, was a member of the music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi, and found the love of Jesus.
He graduated as a band director and teacher, married, and moved back to Houston. During his life, Ken followed his passions for music, motorcycles, archery, and his “fur babies.” If you visited Ken’s home, you would always see a motorcycle in the driveway, a piano in the house, a guitar, and a bow and arrow set or two.
Ken had various jobs including band director but eventually moved to the tech and computer industry. He loved tinkering on the computer and could figure out what was wrong if your computer was not working.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his mother Virgina Doyle and husband Thomas Doyle, and his father Ross Cashiola and brother Ross Cashiola, and his favorite animals, Roselda, Jordy, Mandy, and Pancho. He is survived by his wife Cindy Cashiola, his daughter Lisa Cashiola and her husband Nathan Gustafson and son Antonio Cashiola, stepson Shawn Sherman and wife Andrea Sherman, Grandchildren Joshua Cashiola, Carley Sherman Capps, James Sherman, Sarah Sherman, and Joia Cashiola, and great granddaughter Amelia.
Ken loved the Lord and would tell everyone to find Jesus. He will always be remembered for his smile.
Close family visitation will be held at the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral home in Houston from 4-5 pm on October 3rd. Pubic viewing is from 5-8 pm and will include a Rosary service at 7 pm. On October 4 at 10 am, a mass will be held at the Queen of Peace Church with burial and reception to follow.
