
Madora Adelua Whearly Brooks passed away December 20, 2012 in the Loma community. Madora was born in Morengo County near Nickelsville, Ala. on September 25, 1919 to John Andrew Whearly and Sadie D. Whearly. She lived most of her life in Texas. Madora lived in Houston, Texas from 1942 until 1990. In 1990 she moved back to Walker County within the "Loma Community".Preceded in death by her husband Henry Travis Brooks, father, mother and sister. Madora worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company 32 years (1943-1975) retiring as Staff Associate in the Area office for Houston. Madora is a member of Church of Christ Bedias, Texas. Survived by one sister Bertie I. (Polly) Bellah of Port Lavaca, Texas. Nephews: Delbert Dean Hoke of Bedias, Texas; Elbert Gene Hoke & wife Jeanne Hoke of Sugarland, Texas; Jimmy Don Hoke & wife Candice Hoke of Hempstead, Texas; John Travis Bellah and Artist Wayne Bellah of Port Lavaca, Texas; Nolan Young of Houston, Texas; Ed Clarkson of Houston, Texas. Number of great nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2pm in the Brookside Funeral Home Family Chapel. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
