Maria de Luz Moore

April 22, 1988- March 25, 2019

Maria de Luz Moore, known by those who loved her as Lulu, left this earth on March 25, 2019. She is survived by her loving parents, Ronald L. Moore, Elaine and Richard Ellender, her siblings Juli Moore, Wylie Moore, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She entered the Air Force after graduating from high school at 17 and trained as a dental technician in Alamogordo, New Mexico. After leaving the Air Force, she went back to school graduating from University of Houston with an English degree in creative writing. She won many awards but found she loved to work with numbers and problem solve, leading her to a career in accounting. She held the position of Account Team Lead at Westheimer Plumbing & Hardware, where she was a dedicated employee and incredible team leader.

Lulu was a treasured gift to all her friends and co-workers and leaves her grieving family with sweet memories that will live in their hearts forever. A consolation is that she is being greeted with open arms at the gates of Heaven.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Blvd. Houston, Texas 77019 on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM. A reception for family and friends will follow in Sumners Hall at St John’s.
