

Glena Mae Cordelia (Dee Dee) Sandifer of Spring, Texas passed away March 11, 2020 at Memorial Hermann Hospital at the age of 66. Dee Dee was born in Port Arthur, Texas on February 16, 1954 to Dora Mozell Hopper and Royal Maine Hopper of Groves, Texas. She was an honor student at Port Neches-Groves High School and later attended Lamar University. She was the second youngest of twelve children in the Hopper family.
Dee Dee married her childhood friend, Richard Sandifer on February 27, 1982 – reconnecting after more than a decade and a prior marriage for each, and then becoming inseparable.
Dee Dee was a very successful woman in the oil and gas industry for over forty years. She worked her way up through a variety of positions including project manager, branch manager and, most recently, Pricing Coordinator for DistributionNOW. She was a very intelligent lady and had many hobbies and interests such as crafting, quilting and home improvement. She also enjoyed playing word games and solving puzzles.
Dee Dee is survived by her spouse of 38 years, Richard Sandifer, her children Deedra King and husband David, Sarah Edgerly, Sabrina Sandifer-White and husband Brian, and Alexia McClelland and husband Willie. Her grandchildren, Desiree Elmore, Chance Elmore, Hayley Chatelain, Jace Elmore, Rhyder White, Briar White and two great grandchildren Chloe and Jacob Elmore. Dee Dee’s surviving siblings are Marietta Credeur, Mark, William, Royal Jr, Dan, Tyler, Roger and Clarence. Preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Joanne, Neva and Debbie.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. til 4:00 p.m. in the reception hall of Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, Texas 77338. Dee Dee's friends and loved ones are invited to join in sharing her memory over a meal. The microphone will be available for anyone who would like to make a speech.
