Judith Ann Cosgrove

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Erma Market, her sons, James Jr. and Jason, and daughter Ann. She is survived by her husband, James Cosgrove, her daughter Jennifer Cosgrove, sons John (Lara Cosgrove) and Joseph and grandchildren Elise, Cecelia, Sophia and Sean.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Judy was a loving wife, caring mother and adoring grandmother. Her enormous love of life was evident as she would talk to anyone old or young. She attended Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis and later went onto St. Louis University where she earned her bachelor degree and was a member of the Kappa Beta Gamma Sorority.

She met the love of her life, Jim Cosgrove, in Indianapolis, married in 1962 and lived in Indianapolis until 1967. From there, the family moved to Michigan where they resided for seventeen years. In 1984, the Cosgrove family moved back home to Indianapolis. Jim and Judy have resided in Indianapolis and Carmel ever since.

Judith enjoyed her time spent in Michigan which included several endearing life-long friendships. While in Michigan, Judy learned to ski, embraced the sport which included trips to Boyne Mountain. After moving back to Indianapolis in 1984, she embraced the successes of Indianapolis and was an unofficial ambassador for the area!

Judith was a devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church Indianapolis. She loved her Jesuit education at St. Louis University and extoled the virtues of the Jesuit community through her support of Brebeuf High School. She was also a member of St. Margaret’s Guild (Indianapolis) where she volunteered at the annual Decorators Show House. She was also a member of Christ Child Society (Detroit).

Judy had many passions but will be most remembered for her love of cooking and baking, her green thumb and beautiful outdoor flower gardens and her small business where she sold beautiful jewelry and purses.

She will be missed by her family and her many friends.

Visitation will take place Saturday August 16, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Indianapolis followed by a mass at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made the Jay Cosgrove Memorial Scholarship Fund at Brebeuf Jesuit High School.
