Funeral Service for Gary Lee Moyers will be conducted on Friday August 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Beech Bluff. Bro. Denny Hall will officiate the service.
Mr. Moyers was born in Redding, CA on August 4, 1960 to the late Clyde L. and Lucille "June" Leet Moyers. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Beech Bluff. Gary was thought of as a selfless person, who loved his family, friends and community.
He was with Volunteer Intl. for 31 years as a diesel mechanic and a volunteer firefighter for 28 years with the Jackson Madison County Fire Department, station 14.
Gary loved the outdoors, especially crappie fishing, deer hunting. He also enjoyed tractor pulling in West TN.
Other than his parents Gary was preceded in death by a brother; Larry Moyers and sister –in -law; Sarah Jane Moyers.
He is survived by his loving wife Maragret Moyers, 2 Sons; Randall Moyers (Jennifer), James Moyers (Faith Beller), Sister; Vicky Williams (Jack), Brother; Leonard Ray Moyers, Mark Moyers (Angie), grandchild; Madison Moyers and step-grandchildren; Gracee Tyson, William Tyson, and Drew Tyson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Active pallbearers to serve are; Alex Horton, Joshua Blankenship, Jeremy Blankenship, Travis Thurmond, Adam Thurmond and Chris Ward. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Moyers and Drake Moyers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday August 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and will resume on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
