

Clara Belle Joiner Taylor, 94, passed away on February 7, 2017, at Community Hospice McGraw Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Formerly of Altamonte Springs, Florida and Lawrence, Kansas, Clara was born at home in Willow Oak, Florida, on February 15, 1922, to Paul Burl Joiner and Martha Elizabeth Spence Joiner. She was one of seven children: Paul Freeman Joiner, Jesse Alexander Joiner, Eleanor Joiner Stidham, Annie Sue Joiner Barwick, Elizabeth Joiner Shaddix, and Rose Joiner Mills. All are deceased.
Clara graduated from Mulberry High School in 1940. She attended Tampa Business College in Tampa, Florida, and joined the United States Coast Guard Spars in 1943.
Clara married Bernard Asa Taylor in 1945. They were blessed with two boys, Rod Taylor (deceased), and survived by son, Robert S. Taylor; grandchildren: Scott Taylor, Shelley Taylor, Colby Taylor and Crystal Mayer; and great-grandchildren: Macy, Jackson, Laine, Logan, and Addison. She leaves behind four daughters-in-law: Donna Taylor, Laurette Taylor, Karen McChesney, and Niki Taylor.
Clara was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Winter Park, Florida for over 25 years, and Grace Church in Orlando, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 31, 2017, at 10:30 AM at Calvary Assembly of God, Winter Park, FL. Following the service, the family will attend a graveside service with Military Honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
