

Doreen Lynch (nee) Spooner passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, surrounded by her husband and five children on July 24, 2011 at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Mr. Edwin Thomas Lynch. Doreen was born in Farnborough, England on January 10, 1930 where she was raised by her loving mother and father, Mini and Ted Spooner. She survived the Battle of Britain while in London finding security in bomb shelters. She was a pioneer in law enforcement serving as one of the original female Police Bobbies in London, England. She met and married her husband, who was stationed in London with the U. S. Navy in 1954. They moved to Buffalo NY to start a family. She dearly loved her family, politics, bridge, the French language, swimming and cooking. After raising a family she started a second career as a dental assistant in Buffalo, NY. She went on to teach Dental Assisting after her relocation to Jacksonville, FL in 1982. She and her beloved husband moved permanently to Flagler Beach, Florida in 1996.
She was the cherished mother of six children, Edwin Thomas Lynch, Jr.,(Vilma Brown) Joseph Keith Lynch, Mary Lynch Strange, (George Strange) Anne Marie Poleon (Ronald Poleon), Dr. Allen Kenneth Lynch. (Stephana Miller Lynch). She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Clara Jean Lynch. Doreen is a grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Rachel Marie Strange (deceased) and Meghan Strange Chamlis, (Jeff Chamlis), Joseph and Thomas Lynch, Heather, Matthew and Emily Poleon, and Elizabeth, Emily and David Lynch. She was also the great grandmother to two great grandchildren, Matisse Lynch and Jack Mazlik. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Cartmill and is survived her loving brother David Spooner of Farnborough, England and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister-in-law and her husband, Sue and Hank Trzeicak. She was a caring and loving woman who never failed to help anyone in need. She lived her life according to the Golden Rule and always treated people as she would have wanted to be treated.
A memorial Mass and reception celebrating her life will be held on August 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery located at 141 Carmelite Dr., Bunnell, Florida, 32110. All who wish to attend are invited. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Florida Hospital Hospice Care, 770 West Granada Blvd., Suite 304, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
