Marilyn Zeff Geller

16 May, 194227 July, 2020

Marilyn Leah Geller, 78 Years of age, passed away on July 27, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida. Marilyn was born at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on May 16, 1942. Although Marilyn never lived in North Carolina for a long time, she always talked about being born there. Marilyn was very proud of her Father, Charles Zeff, as he was a surgeon in the Army. Marilyn grew up in Plainville, New York and loved to play sports in High School. At the age of 17, Marilyn met the love of her life, Irwin Geller. On February 8, 1960, Marilyn married Irwin and they had four children together (three boys and a girl). Marilyn and Irwin remained married for 49 years until Irwin passed away in 2009. Their marriage was symbolic of true love and devotion for the family they created together. In 1979, Marilyn and Irwin moved to Coral Springs, Florida, where they resided for almost 30 years until they moved to Jacksonville, Florida to reside with their Daughter, Son-in-law, and Grandchildren (Noah and Kyle). Marilyn ran a medical office in Aventura, Florida, for over Twenty-five (25) years. She loved to help the patients and they loved and appreciated her as well. Everyone just loved her laugh and smile. Marilyn always had a kind word to say and the best advice to give. Throughout Marilyn’s life, she was a dedicated and beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. During her 78 years, she touched the lives of many and always put the needs of others before her own. Being Jewish was always special and meaningful to Marilyn, as her mother, Klara Zeff, was a survivor of the Holocaust. It was so meaningful that at the age of Seventy-Two (72) she became a Bat Mitzvah! It was one of her crowning achievements she looked upon with pride and joy. Marilyn is predeceased by her mother and father, husband, two (2) brothers and granddaughter. Marilyn is survived by her Daughter, Melanie Sacks; Sons: Robert Geller, Scott Geller and Andrew Geller; Grandchildren: Brooke, Benjamin, Joshua, Talia, Noah and Kyle. Her words of wisdom, warmth, smile and laughter will be missed, but never forgotten. Graveside services will be held at: New Center Cemetery, 200 E. 43rd St, Jacksonville, FL 32208. Officiating the Funeral: Rabbi Lubliner and Hazzan Holtzer Arrangements are under the care and direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME OF MANDARIN, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
