He went on to school and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He was recently employed by East Coast Repair and Fabrication. For years he was a competitive bowler earning his Pro card. After retiring from the Navy and finishing school, he became an avid golfer. He is survived by his son, Aaron Patterson and daughter, Rhonda Patterson from Orange Park, FL; his brother Michael Patterson (Denise) from Chesaning, MI; his sisters Pamela Newsom (Frank) from Jacksonville, FL, Janice Patterson and Kelly Polk from Aurora, CO, grandson Jacob Patterson from Orange Park, FL; niece Dawn Frascello (Eric) from Jacksonville; nephews Tyler and Colin Patterson from Grand Ledge, MI; his great nephews Nicholas and Dalton Frascello of Jacksonville and many close friends.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” gathering with a military ceremony on Saturday, March 14 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Ramada Conference Center of Mandarin at 3130 Hartley Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
