Rayford Clayton Redmill Rayford Clayton Redmill, 88, of Carbon Hill, was born on May 1, 1928. He passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be held today, Sept. 25, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Scott McCullar will officiate. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Loree Pair Redmill; and siblings, Pearlie Kilgore, Christine Redmill, James “Buddy” Redmill, Howard Redmill and Inez Baugn. He is survived by his children, Roxyan Roberts (Gary) and Cathy Benson (Todd); grandchildren, Maggie Benson and Amanda Benson; and siblings, Edward Redmill and Louise Hamilton. Mr. Redmill was a certified plumber in Carbon Hill for many years. He served as a volunteer firefighter and fire chief in Carbon Hill for 25 years. He served in the Army in Iwo Jima, Guam and Korea. Mr. Redmill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member and former deacon of Carbon Hill First Baptist Church.
