

Doris grew up and attended school in Laredo, TX. She meet the love of her life Cecil Perry Pierce and married him on March 14, 1946 beginning their adventure together. The couple moved together to Kansas and later Missouri. Of their union there were two children, Leonard and Lela.
During the time they lived in Kansas she worked at the Merle Norman cosmetic store and Electra and later worked in Parsons at the Kansas Ordnance Plant. Her loving heart then lead her to work in home health for many years. While living in Independence, Kansas she was an avid member of the Monday Music Club along with being a den mother to her son’s Boy Scout Troop. Doris was active in the Independence Baptist Church and later attended the Christian Church in Galesburg, Kansas. She was active in both schools and all school functions.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by one son Leonard Pierce of Surprise, AZ and one daughter, Lela Allen, of Kansas City, Missouri and five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and one sister Mary Helen Darilek of San Antonio, TX.
Doris was always full of life and will be greatly missed by her family. There will be a private family service at a later date.
