Janet Delores Arthaud

Janet Delores Arthaud, 84, of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. She was born August 3, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Alvin Snoderly and Catherine L. (Wissbaum) Snoderly. Catherine later married Cyril Lawrence Arthaud and Janet was adopted by him. She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and graduated from Ward High School in 1951.

She worked for Woolworth Dept stores as an office manager, then Townley Metal & Hardware as a buyer. When they closed, she worked for Steelbenders as a buyer and then Bankers Security as bookkeeper. She retired July 16, 2004.

She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church and considered the members her family. She was very involved in her church. She worked with the youth, taught Bible School, played the violin in the band and gave presentations in their Christmas Program.

She loved her cats. She had many throughout the years, starting with Coco. There were Sammy & Sunny, Snooky, Molly, and last but loved dearly, Sophie. Most of all she loved spending time with friends and family. Her legacy is one of love and devotion. The amount of love she had to give was unending. She was generosity, love, devotion and faith.

Survivors include her sister Kathleen Marie Rosetta (John); nieces and nephews Rose Spicer (Alan); Karen Metcalf (Andy); Paula Turnbull, Donald Meinhardt (Melissa); Joseph Meinhardt (Ricole); Janet Harkins (Matthew); 19 great nieces and nephews and two great great nephews.

Visitation will be 6pm, Monday, April 1, 2019 followed by a Celebration of Life at 7pm, at Gospel Assembly Church, 9600 E. 47th St, Kansas City, MO 64133. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave, Topeka, KS 66605. Inurnment to follow at 11:30am in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, KS. She will be buried beside her mother and daddy.
