Mildred Clara Snow

Peacefully on May 20, 2020, Mildred Snow passed away at the Lake of the Woods Hospital with her children by her side.

Millie was born in Kenora August 4, 1934. When Mom was 11 years old, her parents purchased Black Sturgeon Camps and then in 1957 she and husband Rees purchased it. She worked alongside Rees raising their four children and operating the camp for many years. Millie worked hard and also enjoyed her special solo fishing time. Later employment included secretary at Home Care and the Director of Clarissa Manor for several years. During her 42 years of sobriety she mentored and sponsored many people in her AA program. She made herself available through the help line to anyone in need at any time of day or night. Millie enjoyed knitting and especially passing along her talent to her great grandchildren.

Mom will be sadly missed by her children, Janet (Ed), Carl (Deb), Larry and Brenda. She will also be missed by daughter-in-law Jeannie Reuther. Grandma will always be remembered by her grandchildren Derek (Hillary), Ashley (Aaron), Matthew (Mindie), Marla (Jeremy), Rees (Danielle), Demera, Brandi, Brooklyn, Leah, Beau, Preston and Lyndsey. Grandma will be missed by her great grandchildren, Aylah, Grace, Jane, Isaac and Shaye.

Millie is also survived by her brother Chuck and sister-in-law Marylou Kelly, brother-in-laws Ken and Herb Snow, nieces, Erin Roussin, Jackie Rush, nephews Kelly and Mike Rush.

She was predeceased by parents Jack & Clara Kelly, husband Rees, sister Alice Rush, brother-in-law Pat Rush and great grandson Gavriel. Her special friends Amy Visser, Randy, Betty, Marcia, Carol and Joanne will always cherish their special bond with Millie.

Our family wishes to thank the wonderful supportive housing staff at Parkview Apts, Dr. Wiebe, Dr. Olson and all the caring nursing staff at the hospital for the exceptional care of our Mom.

Donations can be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.

l want to send condolences to all of you on the loss of your mother. l met your mom through my sister in 1961 when Larry was just a baby. l was living with my sister and needed a place to stay so your mom and dad offered me a place to stay.
l lived with your parents and cleaned cabins and babysat for them for over 8 years and than decided to go and live on my own.
It was hard and cleaning cabins was not easy.
I miss her children dearly and tried to see them as often as I could.
She was well liked by everyone that knew her and she would be surely missed by everyone that knew her.
May she Rest In Peace. I will surely miss her.

Deepest condolences to Janet, Carl, Larry and Brenda and your entire family! I have such fond memories of Mildred! She taught me how to swim! Black Sturgeon Camp was my “summer camp” growing up! I spent so many of my days there! Swimming, hanging out with Brenda! And when everyone moved back to town! Hitting all the homes around Rabbit Lake for Halloween goodies! And the outdoor figure skating club! It makes me smile just thinking about it! Never no matter what age you are is a good time to loose your mom! Sending hugs !

Dear Janet, Carl, Larry and Brenda, so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have many happy memories of your mom and dad from years past delivering their mail on Coker Road at the camp. She had the most beautiful smile that instantly made you feel welcome. Sincere sympathies to all the Snow families.
Respectfully Gail and Ron Richards

Millie was a special, kind, loving woman. I am very fortunate our paths crossed those years ago, it was my good fortune! She was a good friend, confident, and mentor, who was always willing and able to lend an ear and advice if requested. A big loss for many! My condolences to Brenda, Janet, Carl, Larry, and all the Family. Godspeed Millie, till we meet again! 😘
