Haven't seen Doug in years. We used to go to his house when I was young. Always had a good time.  He will be missed

Sharon and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Before I retired I worked many years with Doug at ORNL's NTRC Building. He was a joy to work with and always kept everyone on their toes. He had such talent at playing the keyboards and he had a beautiful voice. When he sang and played in their band "Knox Vegas," I was fortunate enough to go hear them perform many times. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and let me know if there is anything I can do to be of some assistance. My love to all of you. Pam Tarlton 💜💜

I was so sorry to hear this news. I met Doug through our mutual love of playing, and singing live music in the band Knox Vegas. He was always a pleasure to be around, and took pride in playing/singing the songs the band selected to the best of our abilities. Please accept our condolences and know that the family is in our prayers.

Sharon and family, Bill and I were so saddened to learn of Doug's  passing. What a truly gifted man he was. We enjoyed listening to him play the keyboard every Sunday at Ridgedale. I can't imagine being there and not seeing him in his usual place! And what a beautiful singing voice he had! We were blown away the first time we heard him. May you find comfort in the Lord's capable arms during this most difficult time. You are in our hearts and prayers. Doug, my friend, you will be missed. Sharon, I worked with Doug for over 20 years. Such a great person. Kept to himself mostly but great fun to be around and great to work with.  I’m so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you.  

Doug had been with us for a few years, and got to know him well, and he was special to us. He will truly be missed at ETDC.  He was so sweet, easy going, smart, and then a great sense of humor. We pray for you Sharon during this time and I hope you find peace knowing he is with our Lord and Savior.

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of Doug Gasaway.  I hired Doug back in the late 80s to help our ORNL Team help DOE in the transformation of the SMAC Database to what is now known as ATLIS. 

During his tenure, the Team at ORNL were also responsible for hosting the CTMA in Knoxville.  Doug was the key person to the success of both of those endeavors. 

 

Specifically, Doug was the creator of the current CTMA logo, was the first Treasurer, a Co-Chair and Committee Member.  He was responsible for setting up the CTMA non profit legal status and he played a pivotal role in co hosting the first CTMA in Knoxville that served as the model of the successful format of which we are all accustomed to today.  He persevered  with CTMA and was a key leader for CTMA as it  successfully moved forward.

 

Doug was an outside the box thinker and one of hell of a musician.  A true Artist.

 

I know those of you who had the opportunity to work with Doug will agree he was good friend and colleague

 

RIP.... Doug Gasaway.

The world lost a true angel yesterday. The Kingdom of God welcomed home an angel. I lost one of my dearest best friends I have ever had a chance to develop a relationship with. I will truly miss Doug. Doug was a great mentor, friend, and counselor, I am grateful to have been called Doug's friend. My heart hurts today in ways I have not felt since my Grandfather passed.  God Bless you Sharon and your family. Please know that Kelly and I will always keep you in our Prayers, Y'all were family.
