Lynda was born on March 17, 1947 to the late John Earl Cherry and the late Ellie B. Thomas in Blakely, Georgia. She is also preceded in death by her husband William James (Jim) Ivey, Jr. Lynda worked for a number of years at the Early County Nursing Home in Blakely, GA and retired from Emory Healthcare of LaGrange where she worked as an LPN. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. She loved the beach and adored her grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her daughters, Sandra Ivey Morman and Charles Hancock, Patricia and Todd Browers; son, James “Jimbo” Ivey; granddaughters, Molly Morman, Victoria Browers, LeAndra Browers and Ivey Browers Mclendon (Michael); great-grandchildren, Caylee, Gunner, and Maggie; grandson, Rus Morman; sisters, Evelyn Simpson (Ronnie), Gloria Love, Liz Ezell; brother, Johnny Mac (Merle) Cherry; a number of other relatives also survive.
A graveside service for Ms. Lynda Diane Cherry Ivey will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Max McCord officiating.
