After a long battle with cancer and a rare neurological disease called Guillain-Barre' syndrome, Kristine Thompson passed away on January 19, 2018. Kris was born on May 8th in Hawaii where her father, Ralph, was stationed in the Navy. After his passing, Kris, her sister Veronica and mother, Janet moved to Rochester, New York. After graduating high school, Kris went to work at Kodak as a secretary. Kris was always an outstanding employee and earned the respect of her colleagues. It was while working at Kodak that she also met the love of her life, John. They fell in love, got married and began a family. They had two sons, Marc and Brian, whom Kris treasured. She was an incredibly devoted mother constantly making cookies, cakes, candies, and costumes for her kids and even some of the neighbors. Kris was always there to save the day even if it meant staying up late to help with a school project or type a paper. Kris always went above and beyond. While her boys were in high school, Kris took on the incredibly difficult challenge of changing careers. She studied very hard and ended up working as a Licensed Practicing Nurse. Kris always accomplished what she set her mind to and set an example that inspired those around her. After dealing with more Rochester winters than she ever wanted to, she and John decided to retire in Las Vegas, where she marveled at the mountains and could finally be warm! Soon after they moved, her sons got married and she got the two daughters she never had, Lesley and Erin. She then became a grandmother to Josh and David and was lucky enough to gain two granddaughters, Melissa and Anna, and a great-grandson Reese. She loved them all dearly and showered them with her love, quilts and lots of baked treats. Kris will be remembered for her sense of humor and the generosity she extended to all her friends and family. Beloved Sister, Cousin, Aunt, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, she will be missed more than words can say.
