

William Joseph Glatz, of Levittown died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Manor Care in Yardley. He was 91. Born in Sharpsburg, PA, Mr. Glatz was an original Levittown homeowner residing in Falls Township for 60 years. He was a career serviceman in the Army Air Corps who served during World War II and was stationed in North Africa, Italy and various other duty stations throughout the world during his 26 year career. Mr. Glatz was a long time member of St. Michael the Archangel parish where he served as an usher and was a former member of the Holy Name Society. He was an accomplished pilot who truly enjoyed flying and piloted his own private plane up until the age of 80. Mr. Glatz also enjoyed golfing, going to the beach, listening to Lawrence Welk and following the Phillies and Eagles. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Glatz was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis M. (Stranger) Glatz. He was the loving father of Barbara and her husband Martin Israel, Carol and her husband Paul Dardes, Charlotte and her husband Bill Hamarman, David Glatz, Michael and his wife Joyce Glatz, and Mary Beth and her husband Joe Milano. He was preceded in death by his oldest son William J. Glatz. He will also be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, his brother Richard Glatz; sister, Carolyn Ruprecht and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown.
