Geraldene Allen

Services for Geraldene Allen, 95, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Bob Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Gann Cemetery.

Geraldene was born March 16, 1923 in Angelina County, the daughter of the late Maggie (Riley) and George William Modisette, and passed away July 7, 2018 in Lufkin.

Geraldene was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a teacher for Lufkin ISD and retired after twenty years of service. She was a resident of Lufkin all of her life and was a long time member of Redland Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Joe Ed Allen of Lufkin, Alan Allen of Wimberley, and Jeff Allen and wife, Lori of Austin; daughter, Judy Johnson and husband, Jeff of Leland, Mississippi; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Modisette of Orange; sisters, Juanita Williams of Waller and Billie Reynolds of Lufkin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Faine Allen and grandson, Daniel Johnson.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
