Paul Guido was born and raised in New York City. Upon graduation from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, he served in a combat infantry unit of the United States Army during World War II. When the war ended, Paul worked as a mechanical engineer, then joined Foster Wheeler in 1957 as a Staff Engineer. After various supervisory and managerial positions, Paul was appointed Director of Staff Operations in the Equipment Department, a position he held until his retirement in 1986. Paul was a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and California, a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Instrument Society of America. Paul was the author of several technical articles and held several domestic patents.
Paul died peacefully at the Pines at Whiting. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty, his mother Mary, his father Vincent, his brother Sebastian (Benny), and his sister Connie. He is survived by his nieces, MaryAnne Guido Freeland and Kathy Moran Abbott and their respective families, and many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and Friends are invited to the visitation on Friday July 5, 2019 from 2-6 pm. A funeral service is to begin at 4:30 pm. Entombment will be at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx on Saturday July 6, 2019 at 11:30 am.
