
Marjorie Mary Bonfiglio Walker died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Brethren Care Village. She was born November 30, 1924, in Ashland, the daughter of John Bonfiglio and Hilda Carsinari Bonfiglio. Marjorie was an Ashland resident her entire life and graduated in the Class of 1944 from Ashland High School. She was a homemaker and member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and served as Regent and District Deputy for Elyria, Wooster and Ashland. Marjorie was also a member of the National Council of Catholic Women, Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary and a Red Cross volunteer.
She was married August 23, 1951 to Theodore Carl Walker and he preceded her in death in 1982. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe and John Bonfiglio; and sister, Katherine Sheriff.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen John Sue Walker and Theodore Mark Walker; two grandchildren, April Gary Rygg of Westerville and Joshua Adrian Walker of Minnesota; three great-grandchildren, Adaline Westbeld and Andrew Rygg of Westerville and Austin Walker of Minnesota; a brother, Richard "Fuzz" Bonfiglio; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit from 2-5 Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward Church, 501 Cottage St., Ashland with Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church Building Fund.
