Frank is survived by his daughters, Kari W. Buxton (Dean) of Pinellas Park, Florida, and Patti Orapallo (Anthony) of Deptford, New Jersey; and his 4 grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew Orapallo and Hailey and Evan Buxton.
Born in Duluth, Minnesota, Frank and his family moved to the Miami, Florida area in 1940. After graduation, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve overseas during the Korean War. Frank re-enlisted with the U.S. Navy and became a welder. He was a skilled welder and was recruited to work on nuclear submarines. Frank's strong work ethic and leadership skills earned him commendations for his "must do", "can do" and "will do" attitude. Frank served for 25 years in the U.S. Navy with honor and distinction, where he rose to the rank of E-9 Master Chief.
Frank moved to the Marco Island area in 1975 after retiring from the U.S. Navy and became a commercial fisherman. Frank loved living in Goodland, where he enjoyed sailing, fishing, and bird watching. His family and friends will miss his sense of humor, his wisdom, and deep love of nature.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, February 28th,2018 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home at 577 E. Elkcam Circle Marco Island, FL. Friends and Family can share happy memories and stories about Frank and his life. Dress attire is casual. A celebration of life with Navy Honors will follow at 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Audubon Society.
