Phillip Vaughan (Limey) Boultbee, 84, of Marco Island, Florida passed away peacefully in hospice care on December 28, 2018. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Vaughan is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Betty Boultbee, children: Vanessa (Denny) Hackenberger of Lancaster, PA, Gary Boultbee of Manheim, PA, Vicky Boultbee of Ft. Worth, TX, stepsons Neal (Sarah) Hoover of Monterey, TN and Scott (Theresa) Hoover of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren: Amanda, Alecia, Austin, Carly, Brittany, Ed, David, Serena, Brittany, and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Aldis of Sheffield, England and several nieces.
Vaughan was born Feb 2, 1934 in Yorkshire, England to the late Joseph and Ellen Boultbee. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Mac Boultbee.
Vaughan grew up in Rainworth, England. As a young man, he was proud to follow his father and brother to work beside them in the coal mines. He moved to the United States in 1955 and enjoyed a career as a sales representative in the paint industry. He met his wife Betty, also English, at the British American Club in PA. They spent many wonderful years in Pot Nets, DE before moving permanently to Marco Island in 2005. He had a wonderful circle of friends wherever he lived. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time at Jack’s Lookout and entertaining everyone there with his many wonderful stories.
A service celebrating Vaughan’s life will be held on January 19th, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St Mark’s Episcopal Church on Marco Island.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vaughan’s memory can be made to either St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St Mark’s Episcopal Church on Marco Island.
