Catherine H Currey

Catherine Currey, Age 89, passed away peacefully in her home in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 25, 2017. She was born in Washington, PA, to Thomas and Virginia Hislop, and while still an infant they moved to Toronto, Canada where her father was an accountant. Catherine was educated at the Northern Vocational School in Toronto and was then employed by Canadian Kellog in Toronto, Lyons Van & Storage in Los Angeles, and finally by the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Toronto. She married Norman Currey on March 26, 1951, in Toronto, and their son, Norman Kim Currey was born about 5 years later. Due to Norman accepting a position with Lockheed in Atlanta, they moved there in June 1959. Her main activity for the next 20 years or so was raising their son, and that included Indian Guides and Cub Scouts. Subsequently she did volunteer work with the Buckhead Chapter of AARP.

Catherine is survived by her husband Norman, her sister Virginia Phipps ( Toronto) and their son Norman Kim Currey of Lafayette, Indiana, plus two Grandsons David and Andrew, also of Lafayette, Indiana.
