

Mrs. Bartlett was born on March 18, 1924, in Cobb County, daughter of the late John Huey Burgess and Bertha Mae Mohon Burgess. Mrs. Bartlett had been a longtime member of Roswell Street Baptist Church, but had later became a member of Olive Springs Baptist Church. She loved and adored her family and prior to her death was a dedicated member of her church. Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, J.L. Bartlett, by her son, Charles Bartlett and by her daughter, Marilyn Benefield.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Mack “Cliff” Benefield, Jr., Cedartown; her granddaughter, Jessica Benefield, Dalton; her daughter-in-law, Marsha Bartlett, Marietta; a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Olive Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Cheek officiating. Interment will follow in Kennesaw Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2016, from 12 noon until the funeral hour at Olive Springs Baptist Church.
The following gentlemen are asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to assemble at Olive Springs Baptist Church on Friday at 1:30pm: Wayne Foster, Allen James, John Branham, Eddie Burgess, Brad Vick and Scott Vick.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, Rome, GA, has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jessie Hazel Bartlett.
