Florene Westerfield

Florene Westerfield, 93, of Clifton, formerly of Crawford, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas with the Reverend Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Paul Memorial Park in Crawford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, August 31st at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor.

Mrs. Westerfield was born on February 24, 1925 in Coryell City, Texas to Herbert and Agnes (Mueller) Hennig. She married Ira Hall Westerfield on March 20, 1944 in Waco and they celebrated over 54 wonderful years together until his death on April 29, 1998. Mrs. Westerfield was a great seamstress, enjoyed yardwork, and was an excellent cook, but her true love was her family; especially her grandkids. She was a very active member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was involved in different ladies groups. Mrs. Westerfield was baptized at Saint John Lutheran Church in Coryell City and was confirmed on April 2, 1939 at Saint John Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister; Marilyn Lippe, grandson; Jake Gohlke and great-great grandson; Kendrick Pitts.

Survivors include her sons, Ira Dan Westerfield of Crawford and Gary Don Westerfield and his wife, Jeannie, of Rio Ranch, NM, daughters; Lynette Pitts and her husband, James, of Lubbock, Patricia Ann Gohlke and her husband, Gary, of Crawford and Kathy Irene Nelson and her husband, Bo, of Valley Mills, sisters; Leola Shoaf of Gatesville, Viola Truss of Stephenville and Carolyn Scott and her husband, Clarence, of Crawford, grandchildren; Alan Pitts, Jami Pitts, Josh Westerfield, Zack Westerfield, Burt Gohlke, Cody Gohlke, Kelly Patterson, Vance Gohlke, Kayla Spence, and Sheryl Long; great grandchildren, Henry Pitts, Kayla Westerfield, Lennon Westerfield, Amara Westerfield, Colby Gohlke, Cooper Gohlke, Taylor Gohlke, Cora Patterson, Sloan Patterson, Kannon Spence, Karson Spence, and Corbin Long; and great-great grandchildren, Mason Pitts, Eleanor Pitts, and Artemus Pitts.
