Gene was a good brother-in-law. We had good times in Richmond and Lynchburg. Wish we could have seen him more, but all memories are good. The children used to have a good times at grandma's. We would spend the weekend with him and go dancing. We would go to the beach when they came to visit us, such fun. Love to everyone.

I'm happy to meet my mother's cousin and his best friend JJ. McDonald's will never be the same without Gene and JJ. Prayers for all those close to this passing. Love you, Cousin Gene.

Gene was like a brother. We spent almost every summer together on my grand Cline Simmons farm. We got up at 5am milked cows, hauled milk to road in ole model A ford and had many fun times swimming in back creek. Gene was a kind gentle man that I will never forget. I loved him just like he was my brother. I will miss him.

Gene was such a sweet, kind and loving man. He was a good friend and business partner to my dear departed husband, Curtis, and a loving friend to me. Gene will live forever in my heart.
