

Helen Vera Potter Cochran, 95, of Memphis passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Mrs. Cochran was born June 17, 1919, in Potts Camp, Mississippi, to William and Millie Potter, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 48 years, Lawrence Richard Cochran, preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Cochran was also preceded in death by her brothers Earl Potter (Marjorie) and Burl Potter (Ruth) and her sister Mabel Potter Goode (Gus). She is survived by her sons Gordon (Joyce) Cochran of Germantown, Tennessee, and Barry Cochran of Springdale, Arkansas. She also leaves three granddaughters: Kimberly (Larry) Heathcott, Kelly Mudd, and Rebecca Secrist. She leaves six great-grandchildren: Jack and Laura Heathcott; Kate Mudd; and Emersyn, Easyn, and Ellasyn Secrist. Mrs. Cochran loved to cook and sew for her family. Mrs. Cochran was a devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church. When she was unable to live independently, she lived at Waverly Gardens and most recently at Signature Healthcare at Saint Francis. There will be a graveside service at Memphis Memory Gardens on Saturday, April 25, for the immediate family.
