Gamaliel Galindo, Sr. passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. Gamaliel was born August 3, 1955 in Colima, Mexico to Jose Isabel Galindo Corona and Reynalda Toro Solis and grew up in Cihuatlan, Mexico. At seventeen years old, he emigrated to the United States in order to pursue the American dream. While living in Los Angeles, California, he met his beautiful wife, Martha. They married and had four wonderful children. Gamaliel and Martha immediately bought a small two bedroom home in the suburbs of Los Angeles, and they also helped raise several of their nephews and nieces. He was a beloved father-figure to many. Gamaliel and Martha eventually moved to Merced, CA. Gamaliel’s life was devoted to his family whom he loved very much. His unrelenting love, unconditional support, and hard work allowed his four children to become accomplished as lawyers, clinical researchers, academics, and writers. His American dream came true and he was proud to be an American.
Gamaliel had an outstanding work ethic and selflessness, dedicating his life to providing for his family. He went above and beyond to give his children the best life and opportunities. He worked many hard and long hours and worked many years at the Scholle Corporation both in Los Angeles and Merced, a job that he loved. He was beloved by many of his co-workers and friends.
He enjoyed going on bike rides, visiting San Francisco to walk the golden gate bridge, going to Disneyland, traveling to places like New York City and Mexico City, visiting and talking to his grandchildren in North Carolina, learning new skills, taking walks with the family dogs (Socrates and Flynn), dancing, romantic music, flowers, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be remembered for all the love he had in his heart, his loyalty, and radiant smile. Gamaliel is survived by his wife Martha, his four children (Gamaliel Jr., Rodolfo, Marisela, and Julieanna), son/daughter-in-laws (Marty and Nellie), and grandchildren (Hadrian and Aria).
