Marian Anna Vocke

Beloved wife of the late Jesse Moore Gibson Jr. and Novel J. Vocke Sr., daughter of the late Commander Louis P. Laussade Sr. and Melvina Danese Laussade. Loving mother of Jesse M. Gibson III (Judy), Jeanne Baumgartner (Bill), Karen Guise (Bob) and Gerard L. Gibson (Audrey).

Grandmother of Robert, Ryan, Mandy, Gerard Michael, Billy, Kristen, Jesse IV, Monique, Christopher, Jessica, John and 21 great grandchildren.

Sister of Louis P. Laussade Jr., Lysle Laussade, and the late Clara Ripp Gremillion, Miriam Rousselle and Jeanne Davis.

She was past president of the Gentilly Kaycee Auxiliary, past state president of the Kaycee Council of Auxiliaries and St Raphael’s Church Altar Society. She belonged to La Petite Theater Guild, New Orleans Women’s Opera Guild, St. Vincent’s Guild, Dominican Mother House and a vast number of clubs and organizations.

She loved to play cards and was active for over 50 years in Bridge and Canasta groups.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at Leitz Egan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. on Tuesday, July 17th from 5 – 8 PM.
