Helen A Legg

1940 – 2017

After years of declining health, Helen Ann (Coombs) Legg departed this life for her heavenly home at 3:26am on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was born on March 24, 1940 in Webster County WV to Nellie Phyllis (Mullins) (Snyder) Coombs and Rev. Russell Coombs. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband of more than 30 years, Roy Legg of Defuniak Springs, FL; two daughters, Margaret Ann (Lee) Campbell of Clarksburg, WV and Mary Elizabeth Lee of Arlington, VA; one son, Kevin Wayne Lee of Gordonsville, VA; sister, Shirley Gunno of Sun City, AZ; granddaughter, Shanna Lee of Defuniak Springs, FL; and four other grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was Baptist by faith. She attended Webster Springs Elementary and High School, retired from the Ohio Army National Guard in Columbus, OH, and lived the final years of her life in DeFuniak Springs, FL with her husband Roy. She and Roy enjoyed many happy years together. When her health was good, she loved to read, play cards, paint ceramics, watch her favorite televisions shows, and play with her great-grandchildren – Destiny and Isaac.

A service will be held in the spring of 2017 at the grave sites of her parents at Cutlip Cemetery in Hacker Valley, WV where her ashes will be laid to rest.
