I loved you from the very first moment I knew I was pregnant and going to deliver a 9 lb 5 1/2 oz boy into the family in San Pedro, CA.
What joy.  Sophie would say he is a charmer.  David would say so you named him after me...how cool.  We all wanted the chance to say HI and hug on his little self.  So we did, and he ran.

Scott David Chamberlain was my own son and I loved his very presence with me day and night on Leland Street, San Pedro, CA..
Our property @ 3512 Leland Street was backed on an alleyway that was hid away from prying eyes.  I took baby Scott David with me to peruse the coastline and search for nosey neighbors.  We had an understanding not privy to many.  His blonde good looks and blue as the sky eyes were his calling card to Rosalie Doerr and her friend Virginia Wecker of Missouri.  USA.   WE keep a phone line open at all times to hear of his whereabouts and also that of his Daddy Steven Howard Chamberlain of the armed forces of the USA.

We only had you in our lives for less than 12 months, but as my favorite and only son, you, Scott David Chamberlain were a bright spot in our ordinary lives in San Pedro, Los Angeles County California.  Your extended pregnancy gave us time to prepare your yellow bedroom with white trim and Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy decor.  You developed some respiratory issues that made it hard for you to breathe properly.  The Doctors called it a form of cystic fibrosis for which cause I had collected donations door to door in high school.  Who knew this condition would shorten your life with us and force your Daddy Steven Howard Chamberlain to reach out for the drier climates in parts of Arizona...Marana, to be specific.  That is when I lost track of you and I will always regret the choices your Daddy arbitrarily made for our little family.  His job with John Deere Heavy Equipment in Pico Rivera gave us a steady income and great contacts with nurse and doctor friends from my job at San Pedro and Peninsula Hospital in the Nursing Department.  I fought to keep my nursing license current, since Nursing is my Life's CALLING.

Scott David came to EARTH for just shy of one year.  He just could not abide the plain air and wanted to gift wrap all kinds of stuff for those mean people at dutch Village Drugs...so she did, and gave her ailing Mom Sophie Pardo Carr the proceeds and helped get her Daddy underground where he was headed for a long time with his filthy habit of cigarette smoking plus older pipes and such.  He wanted some fluffy pipe cleaners, so we arranged to have them sent regularly to his address @ 5736 Candor Street, Lakewood, CA  90713.  Hope he is happy now.   We miss his quick wit and slow response.   Susan and Jane Frances carr will agree.  Daddy was the best at all he could do.  Raising 4 ladies in a house built for far fewer.

I waited for you far too long as you were a November baby not due to be born until the following March, 16,1977.   And the angels had fun bouncing you from cloud to cloud til you landed kerplunk at 3512 Oakwood Road Lake Isabella, CA  and the power poles buzzed and floated downriver like they were supposed to do.  So we had a date to meet at Ports o' Call village, San Pedro, CA at the foot of 6th street and one over to meet up with the 7th Street Estuary  cutoff, and just floated Noah's Boat into place on top of Mount Ararat in Persia.  and they have been fussing about it ever since/  But Let's ask Our secret weapon DAD, reading his newspaper while perched on the potty before all the sleepyheads got awake enough to know they were awake enough to get the dry wrapped morning edition safe on the front porch:  Ker plop!  so everybody did their daily doodie and the stork picked up the precious bundles first and everybody giggle and was happy to ride off on their re painted bikes borrowed from the neighbors...to pedal away the miles to Catalina Avenue, where the bison resorted to after that final flooding...and they opted to call them moo COWs to mimic the sound they made everymorning

SCOTT DAVID CHAMBERLAIN born March 15, 1977 to February 14, 1978 in Long Beach, CALIFORNIA>>>TO a young Mommy called Kathleen Marie Carr Chamberlain Moore Renter, RN.  and a busy diesel mechanic Daddy Steven Howard Chamberlain to the John Deere Plant they would go...laffing at speed traps and such and flipping people off as much as possible.  Until (cue the sirens) there were roadblocks and detour signs everywhere, as Momma had forgot to put the fresh apple slices in the lunch bags for both Father and Son, Steve and Scottie.  Mommy was so exhaustipated by then that they found her asleep at the switchback and she never saw the train coming at the crossing and the rest is HISTORY.  Read about it in her forthcoming book:  Steve and Scotty beat the train at least once...and laffed all the way to the john DEERE PLANT///in Pico Rivera, CALIFORNIA...where the baby learned to tell a box wrench from an adjustable one and ordered a dozen more for friends as gift sets.  The tool man said"  It is well worth it, and I will gift  box it so you can gift wrap it for free @ Dutch Village Drugs and Sundries, Inc.

at 9 lbs 5 1/2 oz you were mine for 11 months and some days then Jesus Christ called you home.   Your Daddy Steven Howard Chamberlain was there when you were delivered from my warm toasty body in one piece.  You flew over the moon for a bit, but then safely landed in my front room at Leland Street.  I held you close and ran with you to the closest neighbor and we will always share those memories.  See you on the next go round, darlin'.  It could have been the blah Mange from the ocean side but we swam and we swam til there was no more swim left in us...I have sensory and emotions and am using a borrowed wheel chair conveyance.  AND i am surrendering to GOD the three in one, in case there are anymore questions, see HIM.  The far side of Catalina Island has a goodly supply of beefalumps I am told.  love you!

Our ships were well fitted and You my son passed through my life in a quick 10 month pregnancy, but then your Daddy got jealous and wanted you exclusively for his own.  Well, breast milk notwithstanding, he tried to manage without me your Mommy and that stint in Del Amo Was like a bad dream.  But I passed muster and showed up whenever a Mommy must.  How I loved your silky blonde hair and those blue blue eyes...obviously a birthday present from me.
Rachel Dawn was also a pipe dream.  and the Johnsons were bit players in the life of Scott David Chamberlain.  MY BIG SON>>all 9 lb 5 1/2 ounces of him.  Blue eyes and a knowing look. You spent 10 months close to my heart of hearts, and your Daddy Steven Howard Chamberlain was so excited to bring a male heir into the family tree.  You arrived after 23 hours of labour and was a joy to behold, you, a 9 lb 5 1/2 ounce blue eyed blonde baby boy with all the correct parts.  YOU did so well and made lots of friends among my coworkers.  Welcome to America young citizen!

I like your cat, as I liked my Trixie and Momma (Simone) Goose in Torrance and surrounds.  It was the early 1970's when I heard my calling and wrote to Queen of Angels School of Nursing so I could be among the final 85 to graduate and go on to do the State Board Examinations at the Long Beach Arena, and finish among the first speedy test takers and qualify to do the bonus questions we all groaned at getting to choose the best situational ethics and such.  It made our folks at home very proud as they watched us At St. Basil's
Basilica in our full regalia, and holding each a long stemmed rose to place in the two wonderful vases by the altar in the enclosed garden.
Gate passes were part of the package and Nelda's hosted a special recognition brunch to include late risers like me.  and the rest of the night shift showed up in force.  to greet the new day.  It was SOOO worth it!  Courtesy albums will be provided upon request as it was the next to final graduation class of Registered Nurses in all of Los Angeles and surrounds.  Pinning was done for Father's Day and all the proud papas clapped for their gals in white.  Shoe laces and all.
Pride beams shone all around.  And some Mamma's cried but the Dads just beamed all over Signal Hill and surrounds.  A beach trip had been hoped for, but then California fell into the ocean and would not be heard from for some time...amaranatha dear ones, Love you in big and small ways...God bless you all!   Now I think I wlll steal a bicycle or three and take on the Pacific Coast drive with the beach on one side and the waves on the other.
