Roberto Vani

It is with great sadness that we announce that on the morning of September 29th, 2017, Abele (Roberto) Vani passed away peacefully. He was 96. Abele leaves behind his beloved wife Erna, to whom he was married for 63 years, his two children, Rick (Kathy), Carina (Daniel), and his four grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas (Taryn), Tristan, and Alyssa.

Born in Prossedi, Italy, Abele immigrated to Canada following his service in the Second World War. He then married the love of his life Erna, whom he had met in Germany. He was a devoted family man whose hard work and dedication made it possible for many of his family and friends to follow him to Canada.

There will be a visitation and funeral held at Centre Funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 chemin de la Cote-des-Neiges, Montreal, QC, H3V 1E7: Visitation on Tuesday, October 3rd from 2-5pm and 7-9pm; and a mass and burial on Wednesday, October 4th, beginning at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Marys Hospital or the LakeShore General. The entire Vani family would like to thank their family and friends for their outpouring of love and support, and to the many doctors, nurses, and careworkers who provided care for Abele and his wife Erna, over the past years. We will be forever grateful.
