

Helen Moore was born in Beaumont, Texas to Morris and Leona Jones on November 11, 1926. She was the fourth child of sixteen children.
Helen came to California in 1941 and joined Greater Community Baptist Church of Pacoima and later joined Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima under the leadership of the late Rev. Hillery T. Broadous.
Helen was an active, dedicated and faithful member of the Calvary Usher Board and the Advanced Aged Ministry at Calvary. On 2nd Sunday nights, Helen joyfully supported the Children’s Ministry as an usher.
She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, California for ten years. In 1958, Helen married the late Herbert Moore, an army career man. Together, they enjoyed living in Germany, traveling the country, Europe and other countries. Helen loved to laugh, have a good time and was an enthusiastic Lakers and Dodgers fan. She enjoyed being with family (personal and church), friends, meeting new people, Vegas trips, cruises to various destinations, bingo, bowling, fishing, dancing and was always on the go - - not allowing any grass to grow under her feet.
In Helen’s latter years, she met Pearl Price who became her close companion and special friend until death.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Leona Jones; sisters: Ophelia Polk, Edna Pite, Mary McDonald, Ethel Landry, Lula Mae Huerls, and Rose Baptist; and her brother, Morris Jones, Jr.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, four (4) sisters: Willie Mae Joubert, Alice Joubert (Leonard), both of Beaumont, TX, Catherine Harrison (Clovis) of Port Arthur, TX, and Mamie Fisher of Barstow, CA; two (2) brothers, Junious Jones of Santa Ana, CA and J.C. Jones (Laverne) of Barstow, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, Calvary family and friends.
