Martin Patrick Coyne Sr.

Martin (Marty) P. Coyne, Sr., age 84 died on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. He was born on March 28, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts to John & Lillian Coyne. He grew up in Boston in a large Irish family. He could tell you stories until your ears hurt. Marty loved his family very much. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. In 1970 he moved his family to Hartford, Connecticut where Marty & his family made many wonderful friends who Marty considered family. He was loved by all and he thought everyone was "a good egg". On June 20, 1964 he married Elizabeth (Ruthie to him) Coyne. Together they raised 5 children. He leaves, with a heavy heart, his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruthie; sons, Martin Coyne, Jr. (Lisa) of West Hartford, CT, Jeffrey Durant (Lisa) of Simpsonville, SC, James Durant (Jeannine) of Stratford, CT, & Wayne Walsh of Windsor, CT; his daughter Susan Leighton (Michael) of Windsor Locks, CT. He also leaves his sister Winifred Cody of Plainfield, MA; 8 grandchildren, Peter Walsh (Kristin), Alexandra Coyne, Michael Goodrich, Joshua Goodrich, Leah Goodrich, Sarah Goodrich, Victoria Durant & Emma Durant; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his 4 brothers, James, John, Tommy & Michael and 3 sisters, Virginia, Margaret & Audrey. Services will be private during this time.
